“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust!” Psalm 91:1-2
Please pray for the families that have experienced devastating losses due to flooding.
Simonton Community Church has established a fund to help families that have been flooded in the Simonton, Texas area. The fund will be administered by the Board of Trustees of Simonton Community Church. You may use the link below to make a donation to the fund through the on-line account. Additionally, you may make a donation through the church office or place a donation in the offering plate on Sundays (please designate “Flood Relief” on the note section of your check). If you have any questions please call the church office at 281-346-1221.
SCC will be focusing on three specific areas to minister to our community families.
- Clean-Up. Call the church office for details on how to help families with clean up when they are allowed back in their homes. There is a process and specific safety instructions for volunteers. Please do not just show up at someone’s home without first contacting the church or the home owner.
- Community Dinner – A dinner has been organized for the Simonton flood victims. SCC will host the dinner in the FLC. We need volunteers to help set up, serve and clean up. The dinner will be served from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 6th – Saturday, June 11th. Volunteer times vary for setup and cleanup. Please contact the SCC office to sign up to assist.
- Childcare – As soon as the city/county allows families back into their homes we will open our church for childcare from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. next week. The childcare is being set up to help parents go into the flooded areas without the worry of their children’s safety in the flooded area. If you would like to assist with childcare, please contact the church office.
