There is no question that we have been blessed abundantly beyond what anyone asked or thought in the beginning days of the church or even now, but it is not for our glory or boasting, it is instead about what God has done in and through us as Simonton Community Church. We cannot wait to see how God uses our campus enhancement projects to grow His kingdom through SCC.

PROJECT UPDATE 4/27/22
The construction of our new foyer is picking up steam with the arrival of the carpenters this week. Bench seating, the Prayer Room door, new wainscoting, and cabinets are being built and installed. The painting inside and flooring will be next. Pray for the safety of the crews and more opportunities for our Staff to minister to the workers. As well pray for completion in God’s perfect timing!
PROJECT UPDATE 3/11/22
Painting of exterior walls of the new foyer has been completed and it looks great! Much work has been completed on the interior. The electrical and fireproofing has been completed. The grid for the sheet rock has also been completed and the crew is beginning to install the sheet rock!
PROJECT UPDATE 2/07/22
The exterior walls and roof have been completed on the new foyer! On Sunday, January 30th, our church family “Wrote on the Doorposts”! Everyone was invited to see the space and write a scripture or prayer on the metal framing studs. We are also blessed to report that the Youth Room upgrades are complete (see below). The Youth Room has been transformed into a comfortable and inviting place for our growing youth ministry! The furniture in the children’s area has been assembled and moved into classrooms. Come and take a look at all the improvements in the Youth Room and Children’s Wing.
PROJECT UPDATE 12/08/21
The construction crews have been busy over the last few weeks and the building is really taking shape! One of our interior projects included painting within the children’s area. The kindergarten and pre-k rooms are finished and they look wonderful! New furniture for several of the children’s classrooms is being assembled and will be placed in the children’s classrooms soon. PROJECT UPDATE 11/08/21
The concrete for the foundation of the new foyer has been poured! The steel for the building is due to arrive on campus this month. It won’t be long now before we see the building rising above the ground! The shelving, furniture, etc. has arrived for the Children’s Area and is being assembled. The Kindergarten and Pre-K rooms have been painted and other decor in those rooms will be finished soon. Exciting progress!
PROJECT UPDATE 10/1/21
The steel structure for the new foyer has been ordered. We are waiting to hear back from the concrete test results to ensure that the foundation and piers meet all building standards. Upon approval of the concrete test, they will be able to start construction of the steel structure.
Children’s Area:
We have purchased shelving, toys, books, tables and chairs for our new nursery room for 2-year-olds. We have also ordered shelving, house center furniture, toys, books, puzzles, tables and chairs for the Kindergarten Life Studies class. The pre-k class is receiving a new rug, tables and chairs as well. We will be painting focal walls in each of these rooms and adding decorative wall decals. More exciting changes in the Children’s area coming soon!
PROJECT UPDATE 9/7/2021
The construction is well underway for the new foyer! Demolition of the porte cochere has been completed. Dirt work to form the foundation has also been completed and the foundation piers have been poured. In the very near future, the footings and the slab for the building will also be poured. After allowing time for the concrete to “cure”, assembly of the building framework will commence.
The original roof over the Family Life Center building was over 30 years old and we had developed several leaks. A new roof and insulation, along with new gutters and downspouts has been installed. Colors were chosen to compliment existing trim on the nearby chapel. All of the lighting in the FLC and the SCA classrooms has been updated with new LED fixtures which are more energy efficient and provide more even lighting in those learning spaces.

The combined budget for all campus renovations and foyer construction is $1,500,000.
